There's a very special place right here in Pensacola where the hungry are fed, the homeless are sheltered, and the abandoned are cared for.  It's the Humane Society of Pensacola, where our staff and volunteers provide comfort and care for unwanted or abandoned animals in our community.

We offer many other services too, for pets and their owners and even for people without pets. To do all that, the shelter relies on the support of people in our community who want to make a difference by helping in some form. Here are just a few ways you can help the animals.

Give a little bit. Donate food, old blankets and towels, or other needed supplies (see wish list below). Monetary donations are always welcome.

Lend a hand. Volunteer your time at your local shelter. Bathe and groom the animals, walk dogs, or play with cats. Help publicize an event. Become a pet therapy volunteer. There are many, many programs and areas needing volunteers!

Find a special companion. Choose your furry companion from our adoption center shelter. We have many wonderful dogs and cats of different shapes and sizes just waiting for a permanent, loving home.

Help spread the word. Be an animal advocate! Tell your friends about our shelter. Promote animal safety and responsible pet ownership.

Be a responsible owner. Keep current identification on your pet at all times. Spay or neuter your pet. Insure your pet has the basics—adequate food, water, shelter, exercise, and veterinary care. And just as with your children—give your pet lots of love and attention!

Be an Animal Angel. Report animal cruelty and neglect to the Escambia County Animal Shelter, 200 W. Fairfield Dr., Pensacola, FL 32501, 850-595-3075.  Also report injured or stray animals. You may prevent suffering, make a new friend, or even save a life.
